Nancy N. Nickell

Nancy N. Nickell

Nancy M. Nickell, 67 of Washington, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

Nancy was born on August 3, 1952 to the late Virgil and Virginia (Wood) Nickell. She was a graduate of South Ripley High School and loved crafting. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and trail riding on her horses. She was currently employed as a jail officer for Daviess County Community Corrections and formerly was a CNA at Daviess Community Hospital. Nancy loved helping others, giving hugs, and had never met a stranger. She had an inviting personality and will be sorely missed by the many lives she touched.

Survivors include her loving children, Heather Richmond and Darrin Perry; grandchildren, Alyssa, Joshua, Skylar, and Madison “Maddy” Perry; one great-grandson, Aiden J. Saylor; siblings, Henry, Clayton “Nick”, and Lucille Nickell; and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded by her parents; a grandson, James M. “Spud” Saylor; a brother, Lawrence Nickell; and a sister, Dorothy Nickell.

There will be a memorial service in memory of Nancy on Saturday, February 1 at the Bear Creek Baptist Church, Friendship. Memorials can be made to the family.

The service will be at 5:00 p.m. Food will be served after the service in the church fellowship hall. Family and friends can share their memories.

Pastor Sherman Hughes will lead the service.
