Robert “Bob” Everett Belew

Robert “Bob” Everett Belew, 77, of Milan passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his residence with family by his side. Bob was born Saturday, October 24, 1942 in Milan, Indiana, the son of the late Dora (Pettit) and Virgil Belew. He was a faithful husband to Lucy for 59 years and a devoted father of their three children. Bob served at and was a member of the Moores Hill First Baptist Church and his life was his faith and his family.


He was a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Baptist men’s group through the church. He owned his own Texaco business for many years and worked various jobs including at Ripley Crossing. He had a love for many hobbies including woodworking with his daughter Jill, hiking in nature, birdwatching with his wife Lucy, restoring antique cars, and ginseng hunting with his daughter Jane and brother Gene. He also was blessed to have enjoyed 20 years with his son Bobby. Bob and Lucy were blessed to spend so much time with their family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Bob is survived by his wife Lucy of Milan; daughters Jill Burns of Elsmere, Kentucky, and Jane (Mark) Becker of Villa Hills, Kentucky; brother Gene Belew of Moores Hill; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Dora and Virgil, son Robert “Bobby” Wayne Belew, and sister Esther Caudill.


There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials may be given in honor of Bob to the Moores Hill First Baptist Church.
