Shelia Kay (Chriswell) Tunny

Sheila Kay (Chriswell) Tunny, age 71 of Greensburg passed away October 23, 2021. She was born in New Castle, IN on July 19, 1950, the daughter of the late Jesse and Helen (Robinson) Chriswell.


Life would see her move to the Osgood community and attend high school. She was a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del class of 1968. After completing school, she began her work career. She was a licensed CNA working in Greensburg, before spending 32 years at Margaret Mary Hospital. After retiring from there, she enjoyed working part-time at Rural King in Greensburg.


Sheila enjoyed life; you always knew what her thoughts were. She loved to read book after book, do gardening, raise flowers, and watch cooking shows. After the death of her husband Bill Schmidt in 1997, she would find happiness again and marry James Tunny, Jr. on Valentine’s Day in 2000. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.


She is survived by husband James Tunny, Jr., daughter Sandra Anderson, stepson James (Jill) Tunny, III, stepdaughters Teresa (Steve) Patrick and Tammy (Steve) Wilhoit, brother Rick Murray, sister Vickie Murray, grandchildren Derek, Cory, Dustin Dyer, along with numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Schmidt, son Skipper Lee Shadday, and sister Debbie Bradley.


Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 10 am.- 12 pm. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm., all services at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial will follow at St. Maurice Cemetery in Napoleon. Memorials can be given to Margaret Mary Hospital in care of the funeral home. Online condolences can be Nealsfuneralhome.net.
