Tim Demaree

Tim Demaree, 65, of Versailles passed away at 6:35 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born in Batesville on November 23, 1954 the son of Delver and Jeanette Bliton Demaree. He was married to Melanie Grey on July 3, 2004 and she survives. Other survivors include three sons Jimmy (Clare) Demaree of Dupont, Weston Ellis of Bennington, and Ethan Ellis of North Vernon; three daughters Timea Demaree of Deputy, Dawn Bolton of Versailles, and Amanda (James) Gribbons of Knoxville, Tennessee; six grandchildren Tyler and Derek Hoskins, Lillian Cline, Sophia Renee Gribbons, Luke Wyatt Demaree, and Lola Jo Sky Demaree; three brothers Duane Demaree of Benham, Wes Demaree of Versailles and Howard Lane Demaree of Versailles; one sister Myrna of Dillsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Verland Demaree.


Mr. Demaree spent his entire working career as a trucker. He worked many years as an over the road driver and since 2006 he and Melanie owned and operated Demaree Trucking south of Versailles. Tim was a member of the Teamsters Union. The love of Tim’s life was his family, especially his grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 1 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Minister Randy Thieman officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
