American flags, placed by the Patriot Guard, frame the sidewalk around the newly unveiled sign for Batesville’s new Freedom Park. The park, located at 150 Six Pine Ranch Road, is on the north side of Batesville across from Batesville Tool and Die Company.

Although the parade was a little different this year, tradition continued as members from Milan American Legion Post 235 started off the Milan 4th of July parade this past Saturday. The Milan Lions Club, parade sponsors, asked people to mainly stay in their cars, or wear masks.

During the June 15 meeting of the Ripley County Commissioners, Mary McCarty from Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (SIRPC) spoke about money that is available through grants for COVID-19.
