Osgood had many Halloween displays
The newly renovated Lions Club Park in Osgood was beautifully decorated with a few hundred pumpkins. The big letters were an attraction for people to have their photos taken inside.

JCD coaches, teams thanked
School board members heard from Kate Todd as she recognized students and teams for their accomplishments during the fall sports season. The student golf athlete highlight was on Tracy McKittrick, who was a match medalist in four of the nine regular season matches. She was the first girl golfer to advance to Regionals in 13 years from the school. The Lapel Regional had 108 girls participating and Tracy finished with a score of 107 for 18 holes on a very soggy course and was well below many of the other participants.
2,021 socks, underwear needed
The Fifth Annual Boxers and Bloomers Collection Drive is underway in the county. Connie Shadday and Sheri Cunningham began this drive after Connie saw this on the news five years ago. “Connie asked me if there was a local collection going on. After checking around, we saw that there wasn’t,” noted Cunningham. Since both ladies work in the local schools they knew about the need first hand. “Unfortunately in Ripley County there are many, many kids who don’t have the basics such as socks and underwear,” Cunningham said.
