Art on Main returns for 23-24 school year

With a 2023-24 theme of “Education Everywhere,” the Batesville Community Education Foundation’s (BCEF) mural project in downtown Batesville has newly installed artwork for the public to view. Featuring Batesville Primary School (BPS) first, the foundation’s program provides four new large murals each school year on the side of the Simons Company building on Main Street, showcasing the artistic talents of Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC) students for all of Batesville to enjoy.


Girls hoops tip off tonight

While fall sports is on the home stretch as two coverage area teams continue paths inside the football postseason, winter sports is making its debut in the high school ranks this week, starting with a brand new girls basketball season. Jac-Cen-Del’s Julia Meyer is one of several coverage area girls basketball players looking to lead this winter.


Bulldogs stun Tigers again

The “Dog Pound” played host to a much-anticipated rematch of No. 9 Lawrenceburg and No. 10 Batesville and for a second time this season, the hometown Bulldogs pulled off a stunner, holding on late to knock off the Tigers 20-14 in the Class 3A Sectional 31 Football Semifinals on Friday night.
