Dollar General possibly coming to Cross Plains
A Notice of Public Hearing was published in the Osgood Journal on August 11 concerning property in Cross Plains that is for a Dollar General Store. The hearing is set for September 1 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Ripley County Courthouse Annex in Versailles.

Christmas plans being made for the Town of Milan
A Christmas committee is being created to help with the plans of upcoming Christmas festivities in the town of Milan. Sally Gosmeyer stated there would be a meeting on Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m. at the ThriftyGypsy store located at 104 W. Carr Street in Milan.

Duke Energy to suspend payment until 9-15
