Dollar General possibly coming to Cross Plains

A Notice of Public Hearing was published in the Osgood Journal on August 11 concerning property in Cross Plains that is for a Dollar General Store. The hearing is set for September 1 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Ripley County Courthouse Annex in Versailles.

Christmas plans being made for the Town of Milan

A Christmas committee is being created to help with the plans of upcoming Christmas festivities in the town of Milan. Sally Gosmeyer stated there would be a meeting on Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m. at the ThriftyGypsy store located at 104 W. Carr Street in Milan.

Duke Energy to suspend payment until 9-15

At the beginning of the pandemic, Duke Energy suspended disconnections and waived late fees among other things to help people who had possibly lost their jobs or were coping with health issues.
