SR board recognizes Linkel for Principal of the Year award

The South Ripley Board of School Trustees recognized elementary school principal Amy Linkel at their regular meeting on Dec. 16 for being named District 10 Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals. “This award does not come without a great deal of hard work,” South Ripley Superintendent Rob Moorhead noted.


Mike Davies retires from The Friendship State Bank

The Friendship State Bank, known as the bank that friendship built, is just that. It’s a place where friendships are forged and generations work together serving the public – who in return refer their children and grandchildren to the bank. “This is a story about legacy,” Friendship President Chris Meyer, noted, as an interview began telling the story of Mike Davies coming to the bank 25 years ago and now his retirement.


Varsity Eagles defeat formidable S’western

The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles boys varsity basketball team traveled to Southwestern (Hanover) on Friday, Dec. 20 and defeated the reigning ORVC champions by a score of 68-60. JCD got off to a hot start, leading 23-8 after the first quarter and 41-22 at half. Southwestern slowly clawed back into the mix, trailing by 12 at the end of three quarters, and closing the gap to eight midway through the final quarter.
