Local women honored for Special Olympics
On January 11 Indiana Special Olympics Winter Games were held at Perfect North Slopes. Many adults and children participated in this event with Special Olympics.
Giving blood is personal
After a motorcycle crash nearly took the life of Noah Haessig of Milan, his mother, Rebecca, told about all the blood he needed. She asks everyone to do what they can to help – give blood, pray – things that have truly changed the course of this young man’s life. “Please consider donating,” she pled. “Noah has received several units since he has been in the hospital…can’t imagine not having that available for him.”
It’s not real...and no one wants it to be
The SADD Chapter at JCD held a Prom Mock Crash last week to show the pain and carnage that follows impaired driving. The above photo seems real as patients are being loaded. An army of responders took time from their busy day to help with the crash to maybe save a life. The innocent faces are pictured at left, the acting victims: Kayla Simon, Cloey Simon, members of SADD, Reed Day, Brynn Negangard and Machaela Cobler, SADD member. See more photo coverage on the back page of today’s paper.
