Girls on the Run celebrate 15 years

At the 15th Annual Girls on the Run of Margaret Mary Health held Saturday, November 16 there were over 1,000 participants altogether, including 276 girls from Ripley, Decatur and Franklin counties. The race started at the Knights of Columbus in Batesville and ended at the same place. It was a crisp morning, but no one seemed to mind. The girls, their running buddies, and people who encouraged them along the way, were out in force.


Equipment stolen from Rexville area

According to information from Ripley County Deputy Conrad Reichert, he is investigating the theft of a 1997 Dodge pickup truck and a 28’ hydraulic gooseneck trailer. Also, a Bobcat has been stolen. All of these thefts took place around the same time, sometime overnight Friday, Nov. 15 into the early morning hours of Nov. 16. Derek Wood and Jake Werner are the owners of the equipment.


JCD Lady Eagles defeat Milan 64-38

Jac-Cen-Del’s Lady Eagles basketball squad traveled across the county on Tuesday, November 19 for a matchup with the hosting Milan Lady Indians. The visitors claimed victory by a score of 64-38 in a match that stayed close throughout the first half but broke open in the second.
