Sunman town workers were busy recently getting the Sunman Community Park playground area ready for the new boarder and equipment.Residents can look forward to the park renovation, along with the newly formed Chamber of Commerce that will benefit businesses in the area.

The Second Annual Letters to our Veterans Campaign is getting underway again this year. Last year 300 letters were distributed to veterans. This year, the group is hoping to send even more.
Children are asked to participate in the Campaign by writing a Thank You letter to a veteran. When they bring the letter in to the Osgood and/or Milan libraries, they will receive a free paperback book. The letters will be sent to veterans who truly enjoy getting the notes from the children.
The letter campaign will be held from now through Friday, November 5, according to Sheri Cunningham, organizer of the event.

Ripley County Treasurer Lisa Vestal reminds everyone that property taxes will be due November 10. The Treasurer’s Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for in-person payments.
