Pike Lumber requests tax abatement at mtg.

During the September 9 meeting of the Milan Town Board, the availability of the 2020 budget was announced. The ordinance for the sanitation increase was once again discussed. The board will meet at least ten days after the notice has been published. The rate increase will now go into effect at the beginning of 2020.


Top golfers named at Ripley Co. Tourney

Golf teams from Batesville, Milan, and Jac-Cen-Del met at North Branch Golf Course to vie for a Ripley County Tournament championship. At the end of nine holes, the Lady Bulldogs clinched the title with a team score of 187. Batesville’s Emma Weiler shot an outstanding score of 32 to claim medalist honors.


Governor Eric Holcomb attends Randy Frye’s Picnic event; talks with those attending

Large tents began going up at State Representative Randy Frye’s home earlier last week for his Annual Picnic. This event has grown over the years and this year a visit from several State dignitaries was in order. Governor Eric Holcomb was also in attendance on Saturday, September 14.
