Lady Eagles 2019 sectional champs

The Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles, under the tutelage of Coach Scott Smith, won their 11th sectional title in a row, and 15th out of the last 18 years, by defeating the Waldron Lady Mohawks by a score of 67-61 in a quintuple overtime game at Waldron High School on Monday, February 4. Those five overtime periods, a total of 20 minutes of extra play, made the game the longest ever in IHSAA girls basketball tournament history. Both teams should be commended for their display of hustle, perseverance, and performance under pressure in what will be remembered as one of the wildest games in Indiana girls basketball lore. The Lady Eagles were escorted home from the game by the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department, but it was so late that a pep rally wasn't held, since school was to be held as scheduled the next morning.
